Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is 1.5 line spacing; uses a 11-point Calibri or Times New Roman fonts; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Articles

Authors who have published articles in Advances in Geomatics (AIG) accept the following conditions:
Scientific Responsibility:
- Articles to be published in terms of scientific publishing standards should be prepared in accordance with the criteria of COPE.
- It is obligatory for the articles to be convenient in terms of research and publication ethics, the authors are responsible for their articles.
- The articles to be sent to start the evaluation process must be submitted with the Copyright Transfer Form, which is signed by all authors.
- As the corresponding author, I also warrant that the Advances in Geomatics Journal Editors will not be held liable against all copyright claims of any third party or in lawsuits that may be filed in the future and that I will be the only person who will be liable in such cases. I also warrant that the article contains no libelous or unlawful statements, I/we did not use any unlawful method or material during the research, I/we obtained all legal permissions pertaining to the research, and I/we adhered to ethical principles during the research.
- The author is responsible for the copyright clearance of all elements in the article. In this context, the authenticity of all kinds of content and copyright elements in the article, the copyright problems that the author may have with third parties, and the copyright issues between the author and third parties should be acknowledged and committed to being completely beyond the scope of the journal.
- The author states that, under this agreement, Advances in Geomatics publishes scientific publications in order to contribute to academic publishing; they are not involved in any commercial business or transaction; they are not involved in the content; they must be fully and/or in writing their responsibility for the content.
Ethical Responsibility:
- Compliance with The Principles of the Helsinki Declaration must be required in all studies, including the “human” factor. In this kind of study, writers are supposed to state in the methods part that they did the study in compliance with the principles and have taken the “informed consent” of the ethical councils and the other people participating in the study.
- For the case reports, the participant’s informed consent must be taken regardless of the patient’s identity.
- The information on the ethics committee approval should be indicated in the methods part together with the name, date, and number of the committee.
Financial Disclosure:
- If there is a direct/indirect commercial connection or an institution sponsoring the article, writers must state that they have no commercial relationship with the commercial product, medicine, company etc. and if any, what kind of a relationship they have (consultant, other agreements).
- The authors are responsible for reporting all personal and financial relationships that may be involved in the study. Whether there is any conflict of interest in relation to the application or evaluation of the article must be clearly stated.
Authors' Responsibilities:
On behalf of all authors, as the corresponding author of the manuscript, I warrant that:
- The manuscript submitted is my/our own original work.
- The journal accepts authorship, which is defined by ICMJE criteria. “The ICMJE recommends that authorship be based on the following four criteria:
- Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work;
- Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content;
- Final approval of the version to be published;
- Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
- I was authorized by all authors to transfer all royalties related to the manuscript and to enter into a binding contract with the journal as detailed in this Copyright Transfer Form and I will be responsible in the event of all disputes that have occurred and that may occur.
- E-mail and contact addresses of all authors have been entered into the Advances in Geomatics manuscript submission page.
- All authors have seen and approved the manuscript as submitted (Advances in Geomatics receives submissions that are not previously published and/or are not submitted and/or being considered for publication elsewhere). The name, place, and date of the meeting should be written as a footnote if manuscripts were presented at any scientific meeting.
- The text, illustrations, and any other materials included in the manuscript do not infringe upon any existing copyright or other rights of anyone.
- I transfer processing, reproduction, representation, printing, distribution, and online transmittal, to Advances in Geomatics with no limitation whatsoever.
Authors' rights:
- The author(s) doesn’t hold the copyright without restrictions and also doesn’t retain publishing rights without restrictions. The author and general public could not use the work commercially without permission from the publisher (please check the CC license details for more information).
- Additionally, the first publication right belongs to the journal. Exclusive rights (commercial etc.) of the published papers belong to the journal.
- There is no payment to the authors as a copyright fee.
Notwithstanding the above, the Contributor(s) or, if applicable the Contributor’s Employer, retain(s) all proprietary rights other than copyright, such as:
- patent rights;
- to use, free of charge, all parts of this article for the author’s future works in books, lectures, classroom teaching, or oral presentations;
- the right to reproduce and disseminate the article for their own purposes provided the copies are not offered for sale.
- The right of the author (s) to use all or part of the work without paying any fee in the future, in their own books and other academic studies, provided giving reference to the article.
- The right to include in the open archives of universities or personal websites. Provided that it is specified in the article tag (also by linking the article published in the journal). Author(s) hold intellectual property rights, such as publishing online and/or in social networks (such as personal web pages, course content websites, Researchgate, etc.), are published on the publication of their work.

However, reproduction, posting, transmission, or other distribution or use of the article or any material contained therein, in any medium as permitted hereunder, requires a citation to the Journal and appropriate credit to Advances in Geomatics as a publisher, suitable in form and content as follows: Title of article, author(s), journal title and volume/issue, © Copyright year.
