Copyright and Licensing Policy

Advances in Geomatics (AIG) is a fully open-access journal, which means that all articles are available on the internet to all users immediately upon publication. Our policies are aligned with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) principles.

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors contributing to Advances in Geomatics (AIG) agree to the following terms:

  • Retention of Rights: Authors retain the copyright of their work without any restrictions.

  • First Publication Right: Authors grant the Journal a right of first publication under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

  • Unrestricted Use: Authors are free to use, reuse, and distribute their work, provided that the original publication in this journal is properly acknowledged.

2. Licensing (Creative Commons)

All articles published in AIG are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under this license, others are permitted to:

  • Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

  • Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.

Requirement: Proper attribution must be given to the original author(s) and the source of publication.

3. Open Access Statement

This is an open-access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

4. Self-Archiving Policy (Green Open Access)

AIG encourages authors to archive their work to increase circulation and impact. There is no embargo period. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their personal websites):

  • Pre-print: Version of the manuscript before peer review.

  • Author’s Accepted Manuscript (Post-print): Version of the manuscript after peer-review but before formatting.

  • Version of Record (Publisher’s PDF): The final published version.

5. Publication Fees

Advances in Geomatics (AIG) is a diamond open-access journal. We do not charge any Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, or any other costs to the authors.
